After MONTHS of back and forth, I've finally, finally found my food groove. I don't know if I've mentioned it here before, but I when I was in my early 20's I developed an eating disorder. For a few years my eating cycled through periods of counting calories, restricting carbs (even the good ones) and refusing myself the slightest indulgence to periods of overeating and bulimia. All the while, I was killing myself at the gym. At my worst I weighed just a little more than 100lbs. and I looked like death.
Here I am in my early 30's, and it's still a constant struggle to quiet those voices. But I do manage to quiet them. For me, eating healthy means eating whole foods that come from the earth and that are mostly unprocessed, and allowing myself one meal a week to indulge in something I wouldn't dare eat on a daily basis. (Here was my cheat meal from last week.)
Lately, I've been eating a lot of short grain brown rice, soup/curry, seafood, and cabbage. I have a few recipes that I plan on sharing over here soon, so keep an eye out. :]
What have you been eating lately?
