Friday, finally! I'm particularly excited about this weekend because I've already gotten all of my homework done, and after spending Saturday studying at Starbucks and Sunday studying at school last weekend, I'm ready for some down time. Plus, it's my birthday weekend, so there's that. :]
The above picture was an early birthday gift from Bryan (and by early I mean he sent it to our house and not his office, so naturally, I opened it because I have the patience of a 3 year old and I hate surprises!)
The butterfly is a Sea Green Swallowtail, and it's indigenous to Indonesia, but it's found on many different islands in the area in the form of subspecies. (Evolution! I love this fact.) It has photonic qualities, so it's color actually depends on how the light is hitting it. Sometimes it looks green, and sometimes blue.
I just love it. It's definitely one of the most interesting birthday gifts I've ever received. Boys who bring you dead things are the best kind of boys. ;]
If you'd like to check out the shop where he bought it, here's a link.
